Conclusion

Because of Naomi Cream, and her work transcribing and annotating Lyon’s diary, we have access to a voice and narratives from the past. Thanks to Naomi, we have the pleasure of reading the diary at all. Because she is A. . Lyon's ancestor, she brought a personal approach and meaning to her work.

Naomi transcribed the diary word-for-word so that readers could experience it in its original form. Readers can now choose how they want to interact with the text.  You can read a page at a time, an entry at a time, or learn about it here in the Lyon Archive. With the knowledge we bring to the diary, the responsibilities we have as readers, and the passion we have to learn about the past, each of us has a different experience with Lyon’s diary.
